DecenterAds DSP Functionality A Quick Start to API Integration

In the digital advertising industry, platforms like DSPs and SSPs are integral to the communication process between advertisers and publishers. Therefore, although there is a usual misconception that integration between the two is as simple as pressing a few buttons on the screen, it is often a matter of persistent communication and tight precision.

DSPs are pivotal in running online media campaigns for advertisers and agencies. They facilitate the process from creating and running campaigns to measuring and optimizing them across all devices and channels such as video, display, and native.

Integration of a DSP with other platforms in the digital landscape is a long process that often makes up to 4-6 weeks of constant work. Nevertheless, with the advancements in API (application programming interface), integration is becoming more convenient for our partners, as it ensures smooth connectivity for automating business processes and enhancement of embedding the data within bonds of applications and systems.

Integration

So how do you set up API integration with DecentreAds? Quite easily. It all begins with an attribution link to our server. This is a specific URL code containing all macros that you fill, looking as follows:

…/api_integration/campaign/?token={token}&cid={campai gn_id}&crid={creative_id}&isActive={status}

/api_integration/ and /campaign/ are paths for sending requests.

Spaces inside {} after ‘=’ are the macros you fill out.

To create an integration, you will require a specific token:

Parameter  Description
{token}  Unique token ID that we assign to your login
{campaign_id}  ID of your campaign on the platform
{creative_id}  ID of your creative on the platform
{status}  The status of your campaign/creative 0 – Turned off, 1 – Active

Once the attribution link is completed, you can manage your campaign’s state using the “GET” method. However, this will require you to fill the attribution without the “crid” parameter. To manage the state of the creative though, proceed to fill in WITH the “crid” parameter.

All in all this simple yet effective process of API integration allows you to achieve seamless connectivity along with more convenient optimization for your campaigns, ultimately leading to the advancement of your time and data management.

The power of programmatic

High-performance server processing metadata and bid request data for real-time bidding in programmatic advertising.

Metadata is the descriptive information attached to a digital asset, such as a website, mobile app, video, or ad impression. While users never see it directly, it provides critical context about the content, audience, placement, and environment in which an ad may appear. This information helps advertising platforms better understand what a specific impression represents and how valuable it may be to advertisers.

Budget allocation in a demand-side platform refers to how an advertiser’s budget is distributed throughout the duration of a campaign. Instead of spending too quickly at the start or leaving unused funds at the end, DSPs pace spending to maintain balance over time. This process involves setting daily or hourly limits and continuously adjusting them based on campaign performance and available opportunities.

Signal loss is the gradual reduction of user data that advertising systems rely on. This includes cookies, device identifiers, and other tracking signals used in real-time bidding to understand who the user is and how valuable an impression might be.
